Rajib Ahmed
I am Rajib Ahmed, a dedicated Textile Engineer with a career rooted in technical excellence and a life story deeply connected to the heritage of Bangladesh. My journey began on November 10, 1996, in the serene village of Nogorchackia, situated in the Ekdanta Union of Atgharia, Pabna. Growing up as the son of Nofiz Uddin and Rajeda Khatun, I was raised in a region known for its historical depth and its reputation as a cradle of education and culture in North Bengal.
My Roots: The Heritage of Pabna and Atgharia
My home district, Pabna, is often referred to as a "district of knowledge." Historically, Pabna has been a significant center since the British colonial era and even earlier during the Maurya and Gupta dynasties. It is a land of rivers, bordered by the mighty Padma and Jamuna, which have shaped the fertile landscape and the resilient character of its people. Atgharia Upazila, where my village Nalgorchackia is located, is a vital part of this geography. The name Atgharia is steeped in local lore, and the region is primarily agricultural, contributing significantly to the country's grain production. Living in Nalgorchackia provided me with a grounded perspective on life, surrounded by the green expanses and the hardworking community of Ekdanta. Pabna is also home to iconic landmarks like the Hardinge Bridge, the Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant, and the ancestral home of the legendary actress Suchitra Sen, all of which fostered a sense of pride in my heritage as I pursued my education.
Academic Foundation: Excellence in Pabna and Noakhali
My academic path was paved with a commitment to high standards. I attended Ekdanta High School, where I secured a perfect GPA 5.00 in my SSC examinations in 2012. This success led me to Govt. Shaheed Bulbul College in Pabna town for my Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC). Shaheed Bulbul College is one of the most prestigious institutions in the Rajshahi Board, named after the valiant student martyr G.M. Shamsul Alam Bulbul, who sacrificed his life in 1971. Studying in such a historic institution, I maintained my momentum and again achieved a GPA 5.00 in 2014.
Driven by a fascination with the backbone of Bangladesh’s economy—the textile industry—I enrolled in the Textile Engineering College, Noakhali (TECN). Affiliated with the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), this college has a long history dating back to 1918, when it started as a handloom school. Today, it is a premier institute for producing skilled engineers. During my time there, I specialized in Apparel Manufacturing Engineering, graduating in 2018 with a CGPA of 3.28. My time in Noakhali was transformative; I moved from the northern plains of Pabna to the coastal influence of the south, gaining not just technical knowledge in yarn, weaving, and wet processing, but also a broader understanding of the diversity of my country.
Professional Journey: Innovation at Premier 1888
Today, I channel my expertise into the Research & Development (R&D) department at Premier 1888 Ltd. as a Senior Executive. Premier 1888 is a titan in the global textile arena, operating as a vertically integrated manufacturer specializing in high-quality terry and non-terry products for international markets. My role is centered in Chattogram (Chittagong), the commercial heart of Bangladesh. At Premier 1888, I focus on fabric development, process optimization, and product innovation. Working in R&D allows me to merge the traditional craftsmanship. My goal is to enhance production efficiency while ensuring the sustainability and quality that global retail and hospitality partners expect.
Personal Life and Vision
On a personal note, I am happily married to Reshma Akter; we began our journey together on February 15, 2021. Our lives were further blessed on April 27, 2023, with the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Umme Unaisah Afra. She is the light of our world, and her presence has given me a new perspective on the importance of building a better, more sustainable future. Currently, I reside with my family in the vibrant neighborhood of Halisahar in Chattogram, near the Chandarpar Mosque in Anandabazar, though my heart remains deeply tied to my roots in Nogorchackia.
My vision is driven by both professional ambition and the desire to leave a legacy for the next generation. I believe that the textile sector is not just about machines and fibers; it is about the heritage and the people behind the craft. Whether I am analyzing a complex Construction Ticket (CT) in the office or enjoying quiet moments with my daughter and family, I am motivated to create value. I aim to contribute to a sustainable and technologically advanced future for the Bangladesh textile industry, ensuring that our nation remains a world leader in quality and innovation for years to come.
